| Major Objectives |
1. To conduct research on various aspects of seed and seed production technology including drying, processing and value addition.
2. To generate basic information on seed certification standards.
3. To generate information on safe storage and seed health.

| Major Achievements |
1. The diagnostic characteristics of seed, seedlings and plants have been identified.
2. All the genotypes of soyabean. Pearl millet and chickpea released during 1978 to 2003 were documented and characterised using morphological, biochemical and molecular descriptors.
3. Sixteen recommendations were generated and included in PoP of ZoneIIIa.
